Confidentiality

Communications between faculty and students with disabilities must remain confidential. For a student with a documented disability, all questions about instruction and procedures should be referred to the Office of Disabilities Services (7-6016). Information about students with disabilities should not be shared with other faculty (even in confidence), friends or family of the student. If you suspect a disability, you should call either the Office of Disabilities Services or Wendy Newby to discuss how to proceed. Some general guidelines are given in the preceding section.
